Leaks for Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption suggest that there could be a potential PC remaster version coming out sometime in the future.

Many fans of the franchise have long been expecting that the first game in the series will be getting a PC remaster. Some people have already seen a description for it appear briefly on the PlayStation Store before it was removed.

Red Dead Redemption Leaks

Another fan earlier this year found in the backend of Rockstar Games' launcher similar game descriptions buried amid metadata. Monitoring once again led to another clue, the game's Steam app number.

The leak comes from Twitter user "TezFunz2" who apparently committed a cyber stakeout of Rockstar Games' online properties. While the latest information is not that big of a deal, it counts as more evidence of a PC remaster for Red Dead Redemption.

People can view and track the game now using the Steam app number via SteamDB. But you won't really see any real information until the store page actually goes live, according to RockPaperShotgun.

So far, fans of the series already know from the previous PlayStation Store leak that the PC remaster will include "PC-specific enhancements." These would supposedly feature support for increased resolutions and framerates.

Prior to the leaks, there were rumors that the Red Dead Redemption PC remaster would be shelved entirely. This was because of the lackluster release of the remastered GTA trilogy. It launched with tons of bugs and was visually unimpressive.

The original Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010 as a spiritual successor to Rockstar Games' Red Dead Revolver from 2004. The former is set in 1911 during the decline of the American West historical era, said GameRant.

Rockstar Games' Popular Series

It follows the story of former Van der Linde gang member John Marston. In the game, the Bureau of Investigation uses his family as collateral to conscript him to go after three of his fellow ex-gang members.

Red Dead Redemption initially launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before it later came to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 last year. However, the game has not yet moved to current-gen consoles or PC.

Despite the various leaks for a PC remaster of the game, there is no official confirmation from Rockstar Games.

Many fans believe it would be a shame if the studio decides not to continue with a PC version of the title. For now, fans can look forward to Grand Theft Auto VI which could come out next year, according to GamingBible.
