Red Bay RNLI volunteers save swimmer off coast of Cushendall

Details have emerged tonight of a dramatic sea rescue off the Co Antrim coast.

A swimmer got into severe difficulties at the beach in Cushendall, Co Antrim, on Monday evening.

Volunteers at Red Bay RNLI, on a training exercise, were alerted after she struggled to stay afloat 200 metres from the shore.
