Defining a distinct social zone in the living room is the well-known secret for achieving a cozy space. This method is especially effective for grounding more alternative or dark designs, as seen in the living room of Miley Cyrus's Malibu home.
The singer's black living room idea came to fruition with the support of her designer mother, Tish Cyrus. Just like Miley, the room has a fun, rock-and-roll sensibility. It's full of unexpected colors with black walls and purple art. However, despite the boldness, the space feels incredibly livable due to the clever layout. Tish has positioned the two modular sofas around a gold coffee table on top of a rug in a classic move that encourages conversation and connection.
