The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an unusual second warning about a baby product it already recalled, and the reason is one most parents never plan for. The company that agreed to take the loungers back no longer exists.
About 9,300 Joyful Journeys baby loungers were recalled in January because they violate the federal mandatory standard for infant sleep products. On July 2, the agency followed up with a product safety warning telling families to stop using the loungers immediately and dispose of them. Joyful Journeys, CPSC said, "is now out of business and unable to offer refunds to consumers."
