Real Madrid will not pursue Erling Haaland if they sign emerging Brazilian talent Endrick, according to reports.
As soon as the Norway striker landed at Manchester City, reports emerged that Madrid were spying a potential bid when a supposed release clause becomes active in 2024. The player’s agent has remained coy about the potential contract caveat but it now seems as though the La Liga champions may call off a pursuit.
Sixteen-year-old Endrick is being tracked by a handful of European clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona. The striker has scored three times in seven first-team games for Palmeiras and is thought to have a £51m release clause in his contract.

Marca also adds that Enrdick’s agents have requested that Madrid do not go in for Haaland if they decide to sign the teenager. They believe he and the City superstar have the same playing style which would negatively impact their client in the future and cause him to enjoy less minutes on the pitch.
Endrick turns 18 in 2024 and his entourage do not wish to see his progression stall at a critical point in his career. Marca claims Madrid are willing to cede to the request amid concerns over Haaland’s injury record and also believe his wages would adversely affect the club’s balance sheets.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato claims City have registered an interest in 18-year-old Andrey Santos of Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama. The youngster played an important part in his club’s promotion last season, scoring eight times.
The report says City are confident of wrapping up a deal for the midfielder - who could cost around £12m - given Pep Guardiola ’s record of being able to persuade South American talent to join his set-up. Previous examples include Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras and Julian Alavrez from River Plate in Argentina.
