Real Madrid star loan move 'in place' as Premier League sides beaten in transfer race

Real Madrid forward Endrick is set to sign for Olympique Lyon on loan until the end of the season.

The young Brazilian has struggled for consistent first-team minutes since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu from Palmeiras in 2024.

The striker has been tipped as one of the best wonderkids on the planet, but he has been unable to rediscover the form that earned him his move to La Liga last year.

This term, he has been limited to just three appearances in all competitions under new boss Xabi Alonso, while a thigh injury earlier in the campaign stunted his start to the season.

Endrick has not scored for Los Blancos this season either, and the No9 netted seven times in his 37 games played in his debut season in the Spanish capital.

Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that he will move to France to play for Lyon, who will pay 50% of Endrick’s wages, but there will be no buy option clause in the loan agreement.

Endrick had previously been linked with a loan move to the Premier League, with several reports claiming that Manchester United and West Ham held interest in the forward.

That has since been blown out of the water by Lyon, who moved quickly to capture the Brazilian’s signature.
