Real Madrid have cooled their interest in Chelsea forward Kai Havertz to pursue a move for Tottenham star Harry Kane, according to a number of reports.
Spanish outlet Marca have claimed the Spanish giants have made a U-turn on Havertz and will now focus their attention on landing Kane instead. According to the report, the club have said they have not made any movement for the transfer, with the 23-year-old 'not among the possible objectives'.
The report from Spain is seconded by 90min, who suggest Madrid have cooled their interest because of Chelsea's asking price for the German international. It's understood that the Blues will demand between £52million-£75million in hope of balancing the books.
In 2020, Chelsea paid £75.8million for Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the report suggesting Todd Boehly is keen to recoup a similar fee for his services this summer. However, officials at the Santiago Bernabeu do not share the same value of Havertz and have toned down their interest.
The decision comes after Chelsea had agreed with the forward that he will be allowed to leave this summer. Havertz has two years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge meaning the club find themselves in a position to demand the right price.
Despite Real Madrid's call to cool their interest, Havertz could still depart this summer. Thomas Tuchel's Bayern Munich are said to be long-term admirers of the attacker whilst Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation.

Back in March, Havertz refused to rule out a move to Munich after it emerged Tuchel was keen to sign the Germany international. Speaking to Sport Bild, he said: "Bayern are generally a huge club that it's hard to say no to as a German player.
"But my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point. In England or Spain."
