Real Madrid aim dig at Mbappe as Zinedine Zidane and Marcelo Bielsa consider new jobs

Paris St Germain are busy and as well as splashing the cash again on players they are looking for a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.

PSG decided to sack Pochettino last week, despite winning Ligue 1, and have yet to announce their decision formally. Barcelona and Real Madrid are also trying to busy in the transfer market and Real have landed Antonio Rudiger on a Bosman from Chelsea to help make up for missing out on Kylian Mbappe.

Barcelona have cooled their interest in Leeds' Raphinha because they cannot pay the £60million asking price and are pursuing Manchester City's Bernardo Silva. Mirror Sport has the latest transfer round-up from around Europe, including updates on PSG, Marcelo Bielsa and Kylian Mbappe.

Zidane could be back in the running for PSG job

Paris St Germain decided last week to sack Mauricio Pochettino just weeks after he led them to their latest Ligue 1 title and were expected to announce Nice's Christophe Galtier as his successor.

Zinedine Zidane was ruled out of the running because it was said he wanted to wait for the France job. But now a story on PSGTALK quotes a report on RMC Sport in France claiming Zidane could be back in contention.

Zidane has been out of work since quitting Real Madrid last year and is a close friend of PSG Qatari owner.

Bielsa set for Athletic Bilbao return

The Athletic claim that Marcelo Bielsa is moving closer to returning to Athletic Bilbao, nine years after he last managed them.

Inaki Arechabaleta is running for the post of Athletic president and has vowed to bring back the former Leeds boss, who left Elland Road in February, if he wins the election.

Arechabaleta said: “(Bielsa) is the most respected coach in the world. He is also a coach for the future, although in the past he gave us the best season of this century.

“(Bielsa) has evolved since then and his ambition, quality and abilities are going to take us to the Athletic that we must become.”

Perez aims dig at Mbappe over Real snub

Goal have reported another dig by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at Kylian Mbappe for rejecting a move to the Bernabeu to stay with Paris St Germain.

Real had courted Mbappe for years and believed they had an agreement to sign the France star on a Bosman this summer. But he changed his mind at the last moment to sign a new contract with PSG and leave Perez fuming.

Perez was caught on film responding to a fan who asked him about Mbappe, saying: “Poor man, he will already be sorry.”
