Readers split over appropriate age to start wearing make-up as pictures of Katie Price's daughter spark debate over mature look

It's the age-old debate; at what age is it appropriate for kids to start wearing makeup? It's a controversial subject which has split opinions for decades and comes as Katie Price 's daughter, Princess, sparked a social media discussion after posting a number of glamorous looks to her Instagram account.

The teenager's recent snaps taken at the home of her dad Peter Andre have divided fans for looking 'too old'. Princess donned a cropped top and green joggers in the casual pictures, captioning the post: "How quick are the summer holidays going, can't believe there's only a few weeks left!"

Whilst many said Katie's lookalike daughter looked lovely, there were those who also took issue with her makeup and outfit. One reader wrote: "She is as pretty as most girls of same age and no need to have make up to look 5 or 10 years older," whilst another reader said: "Beautiful girl but the look doesn’t add up you would almost think she was ten years older. Too much. too soon."

However plenty of readers defended her choice with one reader - who said her 15-year-old granddaughter uses makeup - writing: "To be honest, my granddaughter is 15 and Princess doesn't look any older than her. At that age, they love clothes, make-up, their hair. I think she looks lovely."

Whilst another agreed that letting youngsters experiment with makeup is healthy: "Doesn’t every young girl her age experiment with her image/hair/makeup/clothes. She’s just a typical 15 year old…it’s all part of growing up, leave her be."

Katie Price and Peter Andre have never seen eye to eye after their split, but one constant issue of contention is their daughter's love of make-up.

In July, we reported Princess Andre slammed critics after facing backlash from wearing make-up to her aunt Sophie's wedding. The teenager was a bridesmaid at the family celebration in a navy blue gown, but not everyone liked her glamorous make-over, writes the Mirror.

After posting a photo from the wedding on social media, Princess was hit with a barrage of comments telling her she was a 'natural beauty'. Fans told her she didn't need a full face of makeup, and others told her not to try to be like her mum.

One of our readers said: "All 15 year old girls look older these days. I find the young girls are excellent makeup artists and know how best to bring out their best features. She looks lovely."

Another added: "She looks lovely and I hope she does not follow in her mothers footsteps and gets plastic surgery she does not need."
