The Boston Celtics got another black eye at the hands of the Orlando Magic on Friday afternoon, suffering a substantial defeat with a final score of 113-96. This loss marked the Celtics’ largest defeat of the season, and another vs. a team that continues to give them matchup issues.
Orlando’s victory was due to their higher level of intensity, and showed their ability to compete against contending ball clubs on the heels of their win over the 2023 defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets. Several issues plagued the Celtics during the game, with deficient rebounding and conceding second-chance points recurring problems.
The team also struggled with poor shot selection much of the night, inadequate transition defense, and an overall inability to protect leads.
