The Arizona Cardinals have now signed every one of their 2024 draft picks. The lone holdover, running back Trey Benson, signed his four-year rookie contract, the team announced Thursday.
Benson was selected in the third round of the draft (No. 66 overall) out of Florida State. He originally began his college career in 2021 at Oregon but transferred to Florida State.
In two seasons for the Seminoles, he rushed for 1,896 yards and 23 touchdowns, averaging 6.1 yards per attempt. He also had 33 receptions for 371 yards and a touchdown. In 2023, he rushed 906 yards and 14 touchdowns on 156 carries. He also had 20 receptions for 227 yards and one touchdown. Benson matched a Florida State record with three career touchdowns of 80-plus yards (one run, one reception, one kick return), two of which came last year as he was the only player in the FBS in 2023 with a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown of at least 80 yards.
With the signing, all 12 of the Cardinals’ draft picks are under contracts. We will have the terms of the deal soon.
