A 32- year-old man charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing another man and stealing his car in Adelaide's south has been remanded in custody.
Raymond James Beatty appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court this afternoon by video link from custody charged with 11 offences including attempted murder, dangerous driving, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
His other charges include failure to comply with bail, intent to cause serious harm, committing theft using force, leaving the scene of a crash after causing harm and due care.
Counsel for Mr Beatty made no application for bail during the hearing.
Yesterday SA Police said patrols were called to Galloway Road at O'Sullivan Beach at 7:30am after reports a man had been stabbed by a man who then stole his Ford sedan.
The 54-year-old victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Police said a short time later, the allegedly stolen car collided with a Mazda on O'Sullivan Beach Road at Lonsdale.
The driver of the Mazda was not injured in the crash.
Police alleged the driver of the stolen car then ran off and threatened another man with a knife at a business on Devon Street at Lonsdale and stole his Toyota.
That car was tracked to Flaxmill Road, where police spiked its tyres.
The car stopped near the intersection of Main South and Beach roads in Morphett Vale and Mr Beatty was arrested.
He was refused police bail ahead of his hearing today.
Mr Beatty, who is from Hackham West, will face court again in December.
