Ray Parlour, 'pro drinker' and former footballer, has teamed up with Paddy Power to guide punters around the famous Cheltenham racecourse... all without spilling a drop of beer.
In a hilarious new social video, the cheeky Irish bookie recruited the beer enthusiast. In it, Ray demonstrates how to carry beer while maintaining a four-millimeter distance from the rim.
One of Parlour's dubious teaching techniques is having his students balance on a balance ball while holding pints. However, the Arsenal legend cautions the class after all three students trip and spill their drinks, “if this was at Cheltenham, that would have been £30 worth of Guinness. Plus, you would’ve had to go to the back of the queue again!”
Ray references a wise piece of advice ffrom the legendary Arsène Wenger to a rowdy customer who is attempting to down four beers at once; “We can’t all be Henry’s and Bergkamp’s! It’s better to come back with three pints full than it is no pints.” Wise words from Arsène.
The academy prepares punters for all eventualities, including a “Peaky Blinders bellend to your left! Celebrating punter to your right!”
And in an effort to motivate his students, Ray seeks advice from Alan Brazil, a legendary figure in the pint-carrying sport. The knowledgeable beer courier once said: “Heroes are made when nobody is watching.” So, forget Rachael Blackmore, by not spilling a pint, these lads can become the true stars of Cheltenham.
The video ends with Ray making a Guinness-bomb, a variation on his classic Cobra-bomb, in which he mixes a shot of Jägermeister into a pint of the black stuff before downing it all at once as a reward for a successful day of teaching.
