The Baltimore Ravens addressed many different positions over the course of the 2022 NFL draft. They drafted playmakers in all three phases of the game, and each of their rookies has the chance to contribute immediately, whether it be offensively, defensively or on special teams.
Baltimore double dipped at the tight end position in the fourth round, selecting both Charlie Kolar out of Iowa State and Isaiah Likely out of Coastal Carolina. On Thursday, an injury update was provided on Kolar, as head coach John Harbaugh revealed that he will under go sports hernia surgery next week.
TE Charlie Kolar will undergo surgery to address a sports hernia injury early next week. It’s been an issue that’s lingered since college.
John Harbaugh compared it to what WR Rashod Bateman had to overcome last year.

Kolar is expected to have an impact in a tight end room that also includes Likely, Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle. He will miss some, if not all, of training camp as he looks to get back on the field, and in the meantime Josh Oliver and others will likely have increased opportunities while Kolar is out.
