The Baltimore Ravens currently hold five selections in the 2023 NFL draft, which is a low number for a franchise that values draft picks immensely. Their first round selection currently falls at No. 22 overall, which could be a prime trade back spot for the team as they potentially look to add more draft capital.
In his latest 2023 NFL mock draft, Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network has Baltimore addressing a need early with their first-round pick by selecting University of Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks. Fowler called Banks an elite athlete, while teams would have to “pick their poison” with throwing at him or star cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
“An elite athlete, Deonte Banks on the opposite side of Marlon Humphrey could present a case of ‘pick your poison’ for opposing offenses. Touting the size and length to stymie ‘X’ wideouts, Banks would be CB1 for a Baltimore defense that needs playmakers on the perimeter.”
While Banks wouldn’t surpass Humphrey for the top option at cornerback in the Ravens’ defense, he’d be a wonderful No. 2 option that would add another amazing layer to Baltimore’s secondary.
