The 2022 NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching, as the final bell for moves to be made will be on November 1st at 4pm EST. There were questions surrounding how the Baltimore Ravens would approach the deadline, but they made a major splash on Monday by trading for a defensive star.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Ravens have traded for Chicago Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith. The move nets them one of the best linebackers in the league, someone who can step in and make an immediate impact playing next to fellow inside linebacker Patrick Queen.

Smith is a two-time All-Pro, and has totaled 607 total tackles, 16.5 sacks and seven interceptions over the course of his four-plus years in the NFL. He is slated to be a free agent after the 2022 season, so a major talking point will be if Baltimore will extend him or let him walk for a compensatory selection.
