Cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters are known for their ability to force turnovers, while others follow in their footsteps due to their contagious play-style.
Baltimore’s pass-game coordinator and secondary coach Chris Hewitt was asked about how he emphasizes turnovers to his players. He talked about how it’s a mindset, and how the team makes a big deal and sings praises when a turnover is produced.
“It’s just a mindset. You have to make sure that you practice it every day. We talk about it every day. We praise them for when we do get the turnovers – everybody wants to be praised, right? So, we make a big deal about it when a guy does make a turnover. We show it to them on film, and we praise them and just continue to emphasize all those things on the field. So, that’s what we’re going to do going forward.”
The Ravens were ranked 29th in the league in turnovers for the 2021 season with 15, including being tied for 26th in interceptions with nine.
