The Baltimore Ravens hired offensive coordinator Todd Monken in order to see their offense soar to new heights, something that didn’t appear possible under now-former offensive coordinator Greg Roman. There is plenty of excitement for what the team can do under Monken, but it will take some time to fully get there.
On Thursday, Monken spoke to the media and offered an honest assessment on where his offense currently is after just over one week of training camp. He said that they aren’t nearly where they need to be and not good, but that it’s early in camp so they shouldn’t be.
“It’s a work in progress. We’re not nearly where we need to be, and we shouldn’t be, because it’s early in camp, but we have a lot of work to do.”
He also mentioned that the unit has a “long ways to go”.
“Well, right now, it’s not hard to project because we’re not really good right now. We have a long ways to go.”
