Ravens lose 33-31 after questionable offensive play-calling vs. Browns

Baltimore Ravens fans are likely dismayed after the Browns came out victorious 33-31 in week 10. Forcing two interceptions and sacking Lamar Jackson three times, the Browns finished the game with 16 fourth-quarter points.

The Ravens converted just 25% of their third-down plays, and quarterback Lamar Jackson was simply unimpressive. Rattled by defensive end Myles Garrett all game, Jackson never caught rhythm, completing only thirteen of his 23 pass attempts.  Still, offensive coordinator Todd Monken chose to sequence in pass plays instead of leaning on the running game – a stoic choice that led to a crucial interception by Browns defensive back Greg Newsome II in the fourth quarter.

Sure, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. registered a touchdown, and wide receiver Zay Flowers had a few good plays. Still, Monken abandoned the running game late, opening the window for a Browns comeback.

After the substantial divisional loss, Baltimore will have just four days to prepare for a Cincinnati Bengals offense that is beginning to catch fire.
