Ravens LB Roquan Smith says the ‘whole entire world’ to be watching Thursday

The NFL is not a global game, but they make good inroads in a few foreign markets.

So when Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith says the “whole world” will be watching his team take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, it’s just a metaphor.

The Super Bowl is the only NFL game that the world watches, but tomorrow night’s season opener will draw a massive audience in its own right.

Smith is excited for this one, as he should be. As we all are.

“What way to have a bigger show than when the whole entire world is watching you? Smith asked rhetorically.

“Regardless of what happened last year, that’s last year. This is a completely new season.”

“The whole world is going to be watching … I’m very excited about our defense, and our offense, special teams as well, to put a show on in front of the entire world, and look good while we’re doing it.”

You have to love his enthusiasm here.

He’s right- tomorrow night will be more than a football game or a “television program.” It will indeed be “a show,” and it will be one that the whole country and lots of people in a few other countries will be watching.

And the way to “look good while doing it” is to pull off the upset victory. That would make it not just a show but a great show for Ravens fans worldwide.
