Ravens ILB Patrick Queen reveals what steps he took to get in better shape during offseason

The Baltimore Ravens are going to be relying on a big year from third-year inside linebacker Patrick Queen. The former LSU star has had an up-and-down start to his NFL career so far, but has shown strides and was able to perform well during the second half of the 2021 season after a rough beginning the year.

When Queen spoke with the Baltimore media following a session of organized team activities, the inside linebacker revealed what steps he took to get in better shape this offseason. He shared that he took just two weeks off before getting back to working on his game, and also said he’s eating better, cutting out fried foods.

*“I got to work. I took two weeks off [and] got to work – that’s it. [I’m] eating better, too. I would say [I’m] eating better.” (Reporter: “Did you cut out some of your favorite stuff?”) “I cut out a lot of stuff – fried food. I cut out fried food for like two months. It’s tough, especially in Louisiana. (laughter) It’s extremely tough.”

Queen has shown many flashes of potential over his first two years in the league, and has 204 total tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one touchdown over the course of his short career so far. He is clearly working to become the best player that he can be, and leaving no stone unturned as he tries to establish himself as one of the better inside linebackers in the NFL.
