The Baltimore Ravens will be relying on plenty of young players at the cornerback position over the course of the 2023 season, which will be a key factor in whether the team can have success on the defensive side of the ball. However, there have already been a few injuries for Baltimore at positions of need, which will need monitoring over the next few days.
On Thursday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provided an update on the cornerback position and if the injuries suffered by Rock Ya-Sin and Pepe Williams. He said that the depth at cornerback is “an issue”, and called the “tweaky” injuries that keep happening to his players annoying.
“No, Marlon [Humphrey] is not going to play in the game, but it’s an issue. There’s no question. We’ve had those guys … they’ve kind of been in and out. You know ‘Pepe’ [Damarion Williams] is coming back. It’s not a new injury or anything like that, but he’s got to bring it back and get up to speed. Then these little tweaky things that keep happening to the guys, they’re annoying, there’s no doubt about it, and the players are annoyed by it, too. Yes, we have to look at that for sure.”
