Ravens HC John Harbaugh discusses injury to C Tyler Linderbaum

The Baltimore Ravens have gone through over a weeks worth of 2022 training camp practices so far, with many different players stepping up and making an impact. The team has been experimenting with different methods of reducing injuries, as their 2021 season was one marred by many different ailments that saw players have to miss time left and right.

While Baltimore had been relatively healthy throughout training camp so far, they suffered their first major injury in outside linebacker Vince Biegel, who tore his achilles on Thursday. Rookie center Tyler Linderbaum as well as fullback Ben Mason also had to leave practice early, and after Thursday’s session head coach John Harbaugh provided an update on Linderbaum.

Harbaugh also provided more details on Linderbaum’s injury in a later response.

“Yes, he just kind of … Didn’t get stepped on, kind of just … It’s a physical drill there, and [he] came up a little sore. They’ve looked at it, X-rayed it. They’ll do an MRI on it to make sure, but all indications are it’s nothing serious at all.”

The rookie center was the No. 25 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft for the Ravens, and is expected by many to play a big role in protecting quarterback Lamar Jackson early on. He’s an extremely talented player, and while it remains to be seen when he’ll be back on the field, every rep he gets is important. However, now Baltimore must decide whether to hold Linderbaum out for a few days out of caution or let him back on the practice field with the preseason quickly approaching, depending on what the injury is. However, Harbaugh’s update on the former Iowa star seemed positive, which is a good sign.
