Ravens GM Eric DeCosta talks about offseason plans that include QB Lamar Jackson

Now that the Baltimore Ravens are in offseason mode, the team has a lot of work to do. Before Week 1 of the 2022 season started, quarterback Lamar Jackson set a deadline for contract negotiations to stop so he could focus on the season without any distractions.  The season is over and the time to start negotiating a long-term deal for Jackson can be resumed.

Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh had their end of the season press conference on Thursday, and talked about a lot of important offseason topics. DeCosta talked about the offseason and the draft being his favorite times of the year, while also mentioning he’s excited to start to negotiate with Jackson again in hopes of striking a long-term agreement.

Making sure Jackson is signed to a long-term deal now becomes the focus with former offensive coordinator Greg Roman and the team parting ways. If and when that deal is signed, Jackson will then be able to focus on making sure he can bring a championship to the city of Baltimore, something that he made clear he wanted to do on the day he was drafted in 2018.
