The Baltimore Ravens have seen plenty of storylines develop over their 2022 season for the entirety of the offseason. However, one of the biggest has been the contract situation of quarterback Lamar Jackson, which has been going on over the past year.
The two sides hadn’t been able to agree to a deal, and Jackson made it clear to the media that there was a deadline of right before the football season began. On Friday, Baltimore released a statement from general manager Eric DeCosta about the situation, saying that the team and Jackson weren’t able to agree on a long-term contract despite the best effort on both sides.

Jackson is entering the final year of his contract, so he’ll play out the final year of his rookie deal on the fifth-year option while he makes around $23 million dollars. It appears as if the quarterback and the team are fully focused on football, with many fully expecting a bounce-back season from a team that was hit extremely hard with injuries in 2021.
