The Baltimore Ravens got great contributions out of defensive lineman Derek Wolfe during the 2020 season, as he was one of the best run defenders in the league that year. However he missed all of 2021 with a number of injuries, and the team clearly missed him in their front seven.
Wolfe underwent hip surgery a few months ago, but on Monday shared on his Instagram story that he underwent another hip surgery this year. It’s unfortunate for Wolfe, who has dealt with injuries over the majority of his long NFL career.
Ravens DL Derek Wolfe shares on IG that he underwent his second hip surgery this year. His first was in late January.
Wolfe, whose 2022 salary is fully guaranteed, missed all of last season with injuries.

Wolfe wouldn’t save any money if released by Baltimore, as his salary is fully guaranteed. His departure would create salary cap space if traded, but it’s unclear if any team would want to take on his contract with this most recent development. Hopefully Wolfe can recover back to full health, as that’s the most important thing.
