Ravens CB Damarion Williams to be activated off injured reserve

During his Monday press conference, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced that second-year cornerback Damarion Williams will be activated off injured reserve.

The 2022 fourth-round pick has been on injured reserve since ankle surgery in August. The Ravens have gotten by with solid play from their other cornerbacks this season, but Williams’ return would give them some extra depth at the position, most notably in the slot.

Williams returned to the practice field on November 21, beginning his 21-day window before he could be activated to the 53-man roster.

Baltimore has used a combination of defenders in the slot this season, with second-year safety Kyle Hamilton and veteran cornerback Arthur Maulet seeing the most snaps at the position. With Hamilton potentially missing time with a grade 1 MCL sprain suffered in the victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14, the Ravens could use the depth behind Maulet as they prepare to face a stretch of high-powered offenses to finish the regular season.

Williams was drafted out of Houston with the No. 141 pick in the fourth round by Baltimore in 2022. He played in 14 games as a rookie, totaling 24 tackles and two passes defended, though his role diminished as the season progressed and Hamilton became the primary slot defender.
