Ravens 2022 draft prospect profile: DL Jordan Davis

The Baltimore Ravens have plenty of needs to fill on their roster as the 2022 NFL draft quickly approaches. The edge rusher and cornerback positions have been two that have been widely regarded as the top areas to add talent to for Baltimore, but there are a few other sneaky needs that could use an addition or two.

One of those under-the-radar needs is the defensive line. While the Ravens did bring in Michael Pierce and re-sign Calais Campbell, they could afford to get younger at the position, and the 2022 defensive line class could be a great place to start. One of the best defensive lineman available in this year’s draft is former University of Georgia star Jordan Davis.

Davis is a massive human being, standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing around 341 pounds. He is almost impossible to single block, as teams have to usually send help his way in order to properly contain him from wreaking havoc in the offensive backfield. In the run game he is a disruptive force, using his powerful hands to stun offensive lineman.

There have been questions surrounding Davis and his ability to be a three-down player at the next level, but he has shown the ability to collapse the pocket as an interior pass rusher. He also dominated the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, running a 4.78 40-yard dash at his size and showing his overall athleticism.

Adding Davis to a Baltimore defensive line group that features Campbell, Pierce, Derek Wolfe, Justin Madubuike and more would make the unit a force to be reckoned with. While defensive line isn’t the Ravens’ biggest need at the moment, if a top edge rusher or cornerback isn’t available at No. 14, Davis would be a great selection in his own right.
