Everton were beaten by Manchester United as they exited the FA Cup in the third round.
The Blues were beaten 3-1 in the contest at Old Trafford, to depart the competition in their first fixture of the season. It sees Frank Lampard’s side go another game without a win following on from their form in the Premier League.
An early goal from Antony put Everton 1-0 down within the first couple of minutes of the tie at Old Trafford. But Everton responded with a goal from Conor Coady gifted by a mistake from United goalkeeper David de Gea.

In the second half Coady had the ball in the net again but this time in an own goal to hand United a lead. Everton though they equalised through substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but his goal was disallowed by VAR for offside in the build-up.
Man United were awarded a penalty in the closing stages of the contest, after a challenge from Ben Godfrey on Alejandro Garnacho. The spot-kick was converted by Marcus Rashford to seal the defeat for Everton.
Everton were dealt an injury blow when Alex Iwobi was forced to be stretchered off in the second half. Lampard and co will be hoping that the issue is not as serious as fears around the time of the injury.

The Blues are next in action in the Premier League next Saturday as they take on Southampton at Goodison Park. Everton will be looking to record their first win in the top flight since the end of October.
