Everton gave their Premier League survival hopes a huge boost after they stunned Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex.
Without a win in their last seven games, the Blues claimed a 4-1 victory over Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring inside the opening 34 seconds when he fired home Dominic Calvert-Lewin's low cross, before the midfielder added a second when he finished a counter-attacking move.
Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele then turned the ball into his own net for number three 10 minutes before the interval. Sean Dyche’s side were forced to withstand a lot of pressure in the opening stages of the second half, but they added a fourth when McNeil raced clear before finishing into the empty net.
