Ratchaburi and Angels drop points

Chiang Rai's Victor Cardozo celebrates after scoring a goal against Lampang.

Ratchaburi failed to take sole possession of the top spot in Thai League 1 on Sunday night when they let Police Tero off the hook in injury time for a 1-1 draw.

Sittichok Kannoo's 83rd-minute goal gave the hosts a 1-0 edge in a feisty battle in which both sides lost a player each to red cards.

Marc Babo came to the rescue of Police in the sixth minute of injury time.

Ratchaburi could have benefitted from Bangkok United's failure to claim three points last night following a goalless draw at Sukhothai.

This is the first time that the Angels and Ratchaburi have dropped points this season.

Former champions Chiang Rai United went on a goalscoring rampage to thrash Lampang 5-1 last night.

The Beetles had goals from Victor Cardozo (26 and 64 minutes) and Olavio dos Santos (55) while Settasit Suvannaseat and Chotipat Poomkaewminute added their names to the scoresheet in injury time.

Weerayut Srivichai headed home Lampang's only goal in the 87th minute.

Earlier on Saturday night, Port put on a hot show under a heavy downpour at their PAT Stadium to hammer Khon Kaen United 4-1 for their second league victory of the season.

The Port stars kept the scoreboard ticking after Brazilian striker Hamilton Soares put them ahead in the ninth minute. Pakorn Prempak scored in the 16th and 80th minute and Teerasak Poeiphimai grabbed his first goal for the club on 75 minutes.

Khon Kaen's only goal came in the dying moments when Romulo Cabral netted.

In another game on Saturday night, Nakhon Ratchasima captured three points at their home ground following a 2-1 win over Nongbua Pitchaya in a northeastern derby.
