A sea view has always been a massive selling point for homes for sale lucky enough to boast one, and there is no doubt amongst most property experts that it adds thousands of pounds onto the value of a house.
But there are different levels of sea views too, from a partial glimpse or just seen the waves from the top of a house to a full and fabulous panoramic vista that is sure to take your breath away.
If a location has only a small number of homes that can offer the most expansive of sea views, and they rarely come to market, then the price tag grows again and cuts many potential house hunters out of the race.

The coastal village of Ogmore-by-Sea has for many years been a popular destination for visitors wanting a walk along the golden sands to refresh the soul and maybe treat themselves to an ice cream or coffee on the clifftop (depending on the weather of course). For the lucky few though, it's a place to call home.
Nestled on the cliff above the sweeping sands of a beautiful beach, the village has been an attractive and sought-after place to buy property over the years - with the main attraction surely the impressive beach.
The large expanse of sand, tumbling surf and stretch of coast is popular for a variety of activities - including fishing, surfing, canoeing, walking and swimming. And as part of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, the beach at Ogmore is one of the cleanest in the region. The beach looks out towards Tusker Rock, named after a Danish Viking who colonised the local area, which is completely visible at low tide and a popular place for organised diving.
The village can offer toilet facilities, shops and places to eat, as well as the ruins of historic Ogmore Castle, overlooking the river that runs onto the sands at the end of the valley.
The castle is part of a trio of fortresses, along with Coity and Newcastle, that were built to guard Glamorgan against attacks from the Welsh-held west. Now the only attacks are from over-excited house hunters eager to bag themselves a home here and start enjoying life by the sand and water as soon as possible.
According to property portal Rightmove, the village has an overall average house price of £506,438 with the majority of sales in Ogmore-By-Sea during the last 12 months being detached properties, selling for an average price of £597,500.
Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £396,188, with flats fetching £310,000 - all way above Principality's current Welsh national average house price of £233,361.
The Vale of Glamorgan village is a prime location that has prestigious spots within it, and one of these is surely this quiet, dead-end road of sea facing houses that look out over not only the sands of Ogmore by also the river estuary, Merthyr Mawr sand dunes and Newton beach to the headland of Porthcawl in the distance.
Houses are going on the market in the village, but not many can boast the position of this pretty two-bed sky blue detached home. From the elevated garden terrace, the central lawn or the lower deck area at the end of the garden, the view is truly mesmerising and likely to even distract you from the pizza freshly baked for you by the property's own garden pizza oven.
Imagine relaxing on a lounger on any one of these garden sections with a glass of bubbly, slice of home cooked pizza and the waves as your soundtrack as you watch the sunset over the sea that is nature's masterpiece of colourful artwork and totally unique every time.
But the time will come when you have to wander back inside, but the wonderful view follows you in and is a constant visual partner at the windows that face it.
When you first arrive at the quiet, coastal road, and stop at the front of the house it's probably fair to say that the property is hiding its size and views from sight. The front facade is dominated by the garage and a shed, but that just makes the surprise waiting for you inside even more spectacular.
The property was originally built in the 1930s and according to the selling agent was completely remodelled and renewed in 2008, and that included adding a utility room and power and lighting to the garage.
The front door opens into a side hall, and a door to the left to the handy cloakroom. The door opposite takes you to arguably the main event - the open-plan living space that looks out to sea via two sets of French doors.
It's a thoughtful broken-plan layout, with the kitchen cocooned in the far corner by three walls but the inclusion of a large open doorway to the dining area gain makes the space feel part of the room, plus a large 'hatch' style opening in the adjacent wall ensures the cook doesn't miss out on the tremendous view.
The dining area is zoned next to the kitchen and then flows into the lounge area that easily welcomes you and many family members and friends to the large L-shaped sofa to snuggle by the contemporary log burner and admire the sea view - it's such a remarkable spot in the house you won't be able to resist.
Up to the first floor and the two bedrooms can each boast a floor-to-ceiling window. Each over-sized window creates a picture perfect beach and coast view from the bed that is sure to be the most welcome of morning alarm clocks with the sun streaming in.
And maybe place a cosy chair next to the window and watch the winter storms roll in, or the mesmerising constellation patterns to spot when the clear night sky demands its stars twinkle right at you.
The master bedroom has an ensuite and there is a family bathroom on the first floor too. Currently the second bedroom is being used as a home office and snug, as well as providing a wall of wardrobes to add extra storage for the master bedroom.
The interior design in the home has a mix of fresh, nature based colours surely with the sky, sea and sand influencing the chosen shades, mixed with modern and comfortable furniture choices and accessories.
But if the weather is with you, even the design and décor of the inside of the house surely won't stop you from wandering out onto the garden terrace for a slice of pizza, and with the beach and ocean as your natural entertainment, surely the choice should be a Hawaiian pizza.
