There are some streets on the coast in Wales that can claim one of the best sea view addresses in the nation, and surely this road that winds along the coast in Vale of Glamorgan should be somewhere on this exclusive sea view list.
Called West Farm Road, the street begins as a residential road in the popular coastal village of Ogmore-by-Sea on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast that has a stunning, sweeping sandy beach that bends around the bay past Merthyr Mawr sand dunes to Newton and then Porthcawl on the headland.
Then as it leaves the small community of only 878 people according to the 2011 census, the view opens up into an expanse of sea, sky and when the tide is out, sand. Tusker Rock adds extra interest protruding from the coastal landscape plus a complex of caves and the village even has its own castle ruins.

According to property portal Zoopla, over the last five years there have only been two sales of detached dream homes with big prices tags, with the most recent being in January 2022 that saw a six-bed house on the seafront in the heart of the village change hands for the eye-watering sum of £1m.
This three-bed dream home bungalow can be found on the section of the street that leaves the village behind and meanders into open countryside on one side and the mesmerising, panoramic sea view on the other.
So at this property, every window has a view that surely will stop you in your tracks and makes this plot a prime slice of coastal and countryside real estate that offers the best of both worlds, lush green peppered with sheep in fields at the back, beautiful blue toned water at the front.
The elevated position and uninterrupted panoramic sea view are of course the massive plus points of this well-loved home, but there's plenty of added extras inside to discover that add to the list of features that include Scandinavian triple glazed windows on the coast facing facade and double glazed to the countryside facade.
But before you get inside and explore the spaces on offer here, the back garden is worth a tour first, from the pretty stone wall at the end to the expanse of lawn and the shrubs and borders that flank it. The raised terrace that hugs the house is the prime position to watch the sun go down or the sea birds soar up into the massive expanse of sky.
Inside it's not a shock to see that the home has been extended out onto this terrace via a sunroom that thanks to three sides of picture windows and French doors to the terrace is the prime position for the mesmerising view from the inside.
The front of the house is actually at what might be considered the rear from the main coastal road, but further investigation reveals that there is a private residential road on the other side of this line of sea view properties and this is where you'll find the front door.
This leads into a wide and welcoming hall that has numerous doors fighting for attention as your next destination. Probably the room to win is directly in front of you and can tempt you with the sea view peeking through the glass double doors.
This is the room that can offer a comfortable and cosy lounge at one end and a dining and relaxing zone at the other end, which is the extra space that's cocooned in glass and views.
The kitchen and utility room are both spacious and obviously practical spaces that look out over the rolling fields with only the occasional tree, stone wall or sheep to interrupt, or add, to the rural vista. The kitchen has soft grey toned units hiding integrated appliances.
The main bedroom is of course the largest with the largest views of the sea from its two windows that are longer than a standard window allowing anyone in the bed to admire the coastal location without having to move.
There are three double bedrooms that all offer their own unique view but all have space and comfort created by warm and timeless interiors that include neutral tones complemented by soft heritage shades and statement items of furniture
The bungalow can offer a generous family bathroom with the roll-top bath with gold claw feet and mixer taps with a period design. The home also has a handy a second place to refresh, a bonus shower room that continues the lovely decor.
Inside this wash zone you will find a with walk-in shower and stylish sage green metro tiles, contemporary lighting, and fixtures and fittings and a substantial ladder radiator that can cope with any beach towel the new owner can throw at it after a day on the sandy shore below this beautiful bungalow.
The bungalow with one of the best sea views in the area is for £925,000 with Herbert R Thomas HRT, call the Cowbridge branch on 01446 772911 to find out more.
