Rapper Travis Scott is currently in police custody in Paris following an altercation with a security guard at a hotel. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed that Scott's custody order was extended on Friday night, with police continuing their investigation into the incident.
The altercation took place at the Georges V hotel, where Scott was arrested early Friday after a security guard intervened in a dispute between the rapper and his bodyguard. The arrest came after a call to detain a man known as Travis Scott for violence against the security guard.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, is a prominent figure in the hip hop industry with numerous chart-topping hits. He has over 100 songs that have made the Billboard Hot 100, including singles like “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.”
Despite the arrest, a representative for Scott stated that they are in direct communication with local authorities in Paris to address the matter promptly. The rapper was in Paris for the Olympics and had attended the men's basketball semifinal between the United States and Serbia.
This is not the first time Scott has faced legal issues. In June, he was arrested in Miami Beach on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and public intoxication after an incident at the city's marina.
Scott, who shares two children with his former girlfriend Kylie Jenner, has yet to comment publicly on the recent arrest in Paris. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as the situation unfolds.
