Raheem Morris has had a successful two years with the Los Angeles Rams as their defensive coordinator, but Sean McVay is in danger of losing his top coach. Morris is a top candidate for the Colts’ head coaching job, landing two interviews with Indianapolis.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Morris is “certainly one to watch” in this hiring process. Rapoport has heard Morris did “very well” in the interview process and is one of seven candidates still in consideration.
“It seems like some of the candidates did really well. Raheem Morris I’ve heard has done very well. I think that’s certainly one to watch,” he said on the “Rich Eisen Show.”
Morris also interviewed for the Broncos’ head coaching vacancy but Denver went with Sean Payton, acquiring him in a trade with the Saints. There’s no doubt Morris is one of the top assistant coaches in the NFL and should eventually land a job as a head coach, even if it’s not with the Colts this year.
