Rapido has secured a five-year licence for its cab services in Karnataka, valid until August 2031, from the Karnataka State Transport Authority. Roppen Transportation Services Private Limited, which operates Rapido, said the licence was issued under the Karnataka On-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016, and will offer greater continuity for its captains and commuters while enabling the company to scale up its cab services within the state's regulatory framework.
The company currently runs cab operations across 21 cities in Karnataka, working with more than 3.14 lakh captains and over 2.04 crore registered customers. According to Rapido, more than 69 lakh customers in the state have taken a cab ride on the platform so far.
