Raphael Varane has described scoring his first goal for Manchester United as a 'special feeling'
United managed to leave their supporters with a small slice of joy after a dreadful campaign on Monday night as they defeated Brentford 3-0 in their final home match of the season. The victory stopped the rot of three matches without a victory as Ralf Rangnick's side put on an entertaining attacking display.
The inclusion of Juan Mata on his final appearance at the Theatre of Dreams certainly helped but it was Bruno Fernandes who volleyed home the opener after great work from Anthony Elanga. Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the second half, making amends after he saw a goal disallowed by VAR for off-side in the opening 45 minutes.

Then it was centre-back Varane who rounded out the scoring with 20 minutes to go as he met Alex Telles' corner to powerfully head home. It was the Frenchman's first goal for the club after moving from Real Madrid in the summer and he reacted to finally getting on the scoresheet on Instagram.
Posted alongside a collection of images from the match, Varane wrote: "Yesss. What a special feeling to score my first goal for this amazing club at Old Trafford!!"
United now have two games remaining this season with successive trips to Brighton and Crystal Palace to come.
