Whilst Royal Ascot style is often defined by bright summery shades, Ranvir Singh's elegant gold embellished black dress took a luxurious departure from the classic bright hues we expect to see at the annual race event.
Ranvir's Phase Eight dress features mesmerising sequins and beads in gold for maximum impact and a flattering draped bodice, complemented by a fishtail mesh skirt. This is the kind of dress that will transition effortlessly from day to night, and work seamlessly for black-tie dress codes.
She paired this statement dress with classic black pumps featuring sweet bows, and completed the look with a coordinating Pillbox fascinator also from the British clothing brand.

Heading to Royal Ascot today, Ranvir is set to be hosted by our Woman&Home team and Editor-in-Chief, Hannah Fernando. Ranvir also notes in the Instagram picture that "gold and black sparkles are not the usual choice for a day at the races, but I wanted something that nodded to a slightly Indian look and I love it!".

This black dress is covered with gold sequins and beads for added wow factor. The draped bodice makes this a flattering choice for a range of body types. We'd recommend pairing with glittery sequin shoes for an added touch of luxury.

If you're wondering what to wear to the races and looking for elevated headpieces, this fascinator is worth considering. Its statement swirl detailing feels elegant and refined, plus the shade will pair well with just about any hue.

These sweet satin shoes feature playful bow detailing and a small kitten heel, which means you can wear them all day without discomfort. Style with your favourite dresses or sharp tailoring.

If you're heading to a special occasion and want to wear a dress that provides maximum impact, this floral applique dress is quite the find. The embellished metallic detailing only add to its eye-catching appeal.

The intricate gold beading on this dress makes it feel very luxurious. It has a mermaid silhouette that is fitted until the knee and flares outward, creating a flattering curved finish.

The puff sleeves and empire waist create a flattering finish on this maxi dress. The shorter sleeve design makes it a more breathable choice in the warmer sesaon.
We were lucky enough to catch up with Ranvir's GMB co-host, Charlotte Hawkins, at Ladies' Day. Dressed in the colour of the season, Bright Tomato, Charlotte shared that she was getting ready to provide the commentary for the Royal Procession that day.

Ranvir's black embellished dress translates beyond Royal Ascot and would work extremely well for evening occasions or events with a black-tie dress code. The darker colour palette may not be a typical go-to if you're wondering what to wear to Royal Ascot; however, Duchess Sophie also leaned into this shade, wearing a black puff-sleeve shirt dress yesterday.
By choosing a darker base and focusing on detailling and texture, occasionwear doesn't always need to be dictated to by colour alone, and the colour embellishments make this dress well and truly stand out.
