Ranvir Singh has broken her silence after she was pulled off Good Morning Britain after falling ill.
The 44-year-old star arrived at the studio earlier this week for the ITV breakfast show, where she features as political news correspondent, despite suffering from severe hay fever.
Despite her sever hay fever, Ranvir was determined to continue on with the show - but after half an hour on air, things took a turn for the worst.
Co-host Richard Madeley called it 'the worst hay fever he's ever seen,' as Ranvir admitted: 'I don't know what's going on. That's why I look like this today. I'm OK, thanks. Just streaming eyes.'
Ranvir was soon replaced by reporter Louisa James as Susanna Reid and Richard sent their well wishes to Ranvir.
After viewers insisted it looked as though Ranvir had been crying due to the fears streaming down her face, she took to Twitter on Thursday morning to set the record straight.
Ranvir explained that she had finally been given a diagnosis for her strange symptoms.
"Thanks for all the guidance on my streaming sore eyes this week," she penned.
"It was an allergic reaction to something more than tree pollen as the skin around my eyes has gone paper thin and sore. Anyway I’ll be hosting @lorraine tomorrow and for all of next week - sorry for my face!"
Before she was pulled off air earlier this week, Ranvir took to Twitter to ask for some medical advise amid her unusual symptoms.
Ranvir tweeted to her followers: "Anyone else got the worst most painful stinging hay-fever they’ve ever had? I can barely keep my eyes open. If there was a vaccine for this I’d sign up asap."
And her followers rushed to the comments to offer their words of support for her, as well as their own successful remedies including medication, exercise, ice soaked cotton pads and acupuncture.
Earlier this year, it was revealed Ranvir would be quietly stepping down as Political Editor for the show.
"Ranvir is ready for a new challenge at Good Morning Britain and she wants a bigger role within the team," the source said, "She quietly stepped down as the political editor of the show in anticipation of having a more substantial part to play.
"Ranvir covers for Susanna Reid when she is away and this week has stepped into her shoes during half term. But she wants more and the bosses at GMB are clamouring to give it to her."
The insider added: "She is a hugely popular member of GMB and keeping Ranvir on board is something everyone wants."
