BENGALURU: The Karnataka pace department — a work in progress — has come in for some sharp criticism over the past couple of seasons. Against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals, the pace attack was considered a grey area with Ronit More (31 matches) being the most experienced.
At an overcast Alur (1) cricket stadium on the second day on Tuesday the home team’s pace trio — More (3/47), Vyshak Vijaykumar (2/29) and Vidwath Kaverappa (2/19) — turned on the heat to bowl out Uttar Pradesh for 155 and hand the hosts a crucial 98-run lead.
