Rangers vs Ross County starting team news as Nicolas Raskin and Todd Cantwell included at Ibrox

Michael Beale has named the Rangers team he hopes will extend his unbeaten run and keep the pressure up on Celtic.

And his selection could allow fans a first look at second January recruit Nicolas Raskin after his work permit was all granted to allow him a place on the bench for the Ibrox showdown. Fellow winter recruit Todd Cantwell is also in the squad but is in from the start as they bid to put on a show in front of an expectant home support.

The Light Blues are flying going into this one after a superb showing in the win over Hearts at Tynecastle midweek. Alfredo Morelos fired home a double while Malik Tillman was also on target in a real dominant display. It was arguably the best performance since Beale took over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and he will be asking his troops for more of the same at Ibrox.

Speaking ahead of welcoming the Staggies to Govan, Beale said: “The game with Ross County comes thick and fast so we will just focus on that now, but it was pleasing. It has probably been coming to be honest in terms of the performance at different moments of the game.

"We have played well but I thought that was the most complete performance so far at a really difficult away ground. I have had some bad days there, so I was delighted, I thought it was going to be a tricky game but we played ever so well.

“We have had some tricky away games back-to-back so I think all we can do is focus on the next game. The competition in the building is what is driving the team at the moment. We are not looking too far ahead other than the next game and trying to improve on very specific areas of each game.

“The Hearts game was a step forward but I do feel we owe our home fans a good performance as well. It has been a while, probably the Aberdeen home game where we have put in a really strong performance, we have played well in moments.”

Rangers XI: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic, Jack, Lundstram, Cantwell, Fashion JR, Kent, Morelos.

Subs: McGregor, Hagi, Colak, Kamara, Sands, Wright, Raskin, Lowry, Tillman.
