It's not quite nitty gritty stages yet but transfer business at Rangers is certainly ramping up.
There have been plenty of names linked with the Ibrox side and Benie Traore of Hacken is the latest name off the Ibrox rumour mill, in what has already been a busy summer for those in blue. Boss Michael Beale has snapped up Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland and Sam Lammers as part of his rebuild but more could yet arrive before the window shuts.
There's been talk of players coming in almost every positions and exits can't be ruled out yet either. Antonio Colak has had Bundesliga murmurings and Glen Kamara has a decision to make on whether he sticks or twists with Beale's plans. But fans really have their eyes on the incoming door and here are the latest rumours surrounding Rangers as the summer transfer window starts to edge towards July.
Jose Cifuentes
The Ecuadorian midfielder is one of a few players prominently picked and has been largely tipped as signing number five. But it could be a drawn-out process.
After an energetic performance for LAFC on Saturday where he played 90 minutes in a 3-2 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps, reports have emerged that he'll play hardball to get a move. His deal officially hits six month to expiry date on July 1st and he'll sign an Ibrox pre-contract.
Then Cifuentes will look to negotiate his way from America to Scotland before the new season begins. But he doesn't seem keen on downing tools in what could be a positive sign for Beale.
Jonathan Panzo
Another target Beale might have to go the extra mile for, the defender impressed on loan at Coventry City from Nottingham Forest last season. And it has him on Rangers' radar.
According to the Daily Mail, the Light Blues 'are not willing to meet Nottingham Forest's asking price for Jonathan Panzo.' They are on the hunt for a left-sided centre-back but this deal looks to be a slow burner, as Beale 'wants to add at least two more attackers' to his plans and 'expects to add up to four more' players overall.
Auston Trusty
The Arsenal defender was another Championship star last season, this time with Birmingham City. But just like Panzo, Rangers are finding it hard to get any sort of traction.
It is claimed in the Mail on Sunday that Trusty 'was his (Beale's) preferred summer target but negotiations have stalled over Arsenal's financial demands.' As for now, the Premiership side have been 'priced out of a transfer.'
Abdallah Sima
The Brighton winger isn't in Roberto De Zerbi's plans and emerged like a bolt from the blue as a new name for Rangers fans to get to know.
The Senegalese winger hasn't had the best of luck on loan with Stoke City and most recently Angers, but it appears Michael Beale is interested in bringing the 22-year-old to Glasgow and Rangers are said to be 'confident' of making the deal this happen as early as this week according to reports.
Sima would be number five for the summer and no doubt bring fresh legs to the wingers department with Ryan Kent gone and Ianis Hagi linked with a move away.
Amad Diallo
The Man United winger failed to hit the heady heights many expected as he headed back down the road a year ago with thinking to do. But he's rejuvenated his career since.
A stellar campaign has earned him interest and The Mirror claim he is the man Leeds United want to fire them back to the Premier League. Before that though, Old Trafford, boss Erik ten Hag 'plans to take him on the club’s summer tour to the USA to take a closer look.'
