Rangers transfer state of play on Cifuentes, Kamara and Traore as Danilo makes his case to Michael Beale

It's been a busy summer at Rangers and Michael Beale's confirmation of activity set to continue will only heighten the rumour mill.

Leon Balogun has been confirmed as an Ibrox player again as cover is brought in for Leon King in defence, while a pursuit of Danilo and Jose Cifuentes is continuing. Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers have joined up with their new teammates after signing on the dotted line, with Dujon Sterling the only new recruit not in Germany on pre-season duty due to injury.

Exits could be on the way too though and there is plenty of chatter surrounding what might come next for the likes of Glen Kamara, Antonio Colak and Scott Wright, with Beale confirming that players will be making their way out of the club before this summer is done. Here is the latest news surrounding Rangers' transfer business.

Jose Cifuentes

The midfielder currently with LAFC is in talks over a move to Ibrox, with his deal in America expiring this winter and a view to try and push his arrival forward. A South American football expert has provided his take on the Ecuadorian and while impressed by Cifuentes, has warned over his stalled MLS progress.

Tim Vickery told talkSPORT: "Cifuentes was one of the Under-20 team that came up a few years ago before the pandemic. They were South American champions and third in the world. He's a big barrel-chested central midfielder. He went to the World Cup as a reserve, he's been on the fringe now.

"He's been in the MLS with LAFC for a while. But you look at him physically and you think 'no problem adapting to British football'. He can work box-to-box and has a cannon of a shot in him. I'm actually expected him to make more progress, to be honest, when I first saw him four years. I thought he was really going to come through, he hasn't quite yet done what I expected but I think he would be a solid piece of business."

Danilo

There's been social media hints dropped and talk of new bids being lodged as the Danilo saga rumbles on. But despite the noise, the Feyenoord striker doesn't appear phased by any of it.

He netted on Wednesday afternoon in a friendly for the Rotterdam club against Club Brugge. After pouncing on a high cross, the forward showed composure to find the bottom corner as he showed Beale what he can expect if he arrives in Glasgow.

Benie Traore

Another forward on the Rangers radar is reportedly Traore, the Hacken frontman who has impressed with a goal rush in Sweden. It would appear, however, that the Premier League may be calling him.

The Ibrox side were claimed to have had a bid knocked back but Sky Sports now claim Sheffield United are locked in talks over the forward. Already this summer, Dessers and Sima have bolstered the Light Blues forward line amid the Danilo pursuit.

Glen Kamara

One high-profile exit could be the Finnish international, who is reported to have Besiktas interest by Turkish media. It's a stick or twist summer for him after a mixed 2022/23 campaign and English clubs have also been mentioned as possible landing spots.

According to transfer journalist Dean Jones, recently-relegated Leeds United and Southampton want him for their Championship plans. It's also believed Kamara 'has offers from abroad too' so options appear open for the midfielder.
