Rangers transfer news roundup as Jose Cifuentes timeline emerges and alternative Malik Tillman plan mapped out

Rangers boss Michael Beale faces a busy summer - and with just three Premiership games left planning is ramping up at Ibrox.

One player who could be set to make the move is Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes who is understood to be in talks over a move to Glasgow - after the midfielder began responding to fans on social media while his agent also shared that he was given a VIP tour of Ibrox. Despite Beale distancing himself fro the move, a switch for the Ecuador international looks still to be on the cards as part of the massive overhaul that will be ushered into Ibrox this summer.

However, the potential deal could be put on hold with reports in America suggesting that the Major League Soccer side are keen to keep the 24-year-old at the club until they have competed in the CONCACAF Champions League final against Mexican side Leon. The second leg of that clash takes place on June 4 and could cut into some of Beale's pre-season plans should a delay on any arrivals occur.

Fans will also hope to see Malik Tillman back at Ibrox next season after his successful loan spell from Bayern Munich. However, the £5m required to make the deal permanent could prove to be a major stumbling block in the deal.

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson reckons the club should explore a second loan options for the PFA Young Player of the Year nominee. He told Go Radio: “It’s hard to say. I don’t think he’ll sign permanently.

"I think if they are wanting to do something, whether it’s a lower fee or maybe another loan for a year. The money that’s getting spoken about, around about £5million, I think it’s expensive. I think there are other areas of the pitch where Rangers really need to concentrate on."

Auston Trusty is also understood to be on Rangers radar. Reports in England suggest he will be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer without playing a game for the club.

After loan spells with the Colorado Rapids and Birmingham City, the Daily Mail report Mikel Arteta will green light a permanent departure. The report notes that both Gabriel Magalhaes and new signing Jakub Kiwior are seen as alternatives.
