Rangers transfer exit approaching as defender closes in on move to Poland after limited minutes

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is reportedly set to send promising Polish right-back Mateuz Zukowski back to Poland with Lech Poznan.

The youngster joined the Light Blues seven months ago but has been unable to shift James Tavernier from his right-back role, and with the club captain signing a new long-term deal, his chances of senior football in Govan look slim. Lechia Gdansk sold him to Rangers in a deal worth around £500k but according to Interia Sport, Lech Poznan are closing in on a deal to bring the Zukowski to the club on a season-long loan.

Reports suggest the two sides are in advanced talks over a potential deal a buy-out clause will be added in any finalised negotiations. One youngster who has been given a chance at senior level is Leon King, the central defender making a 45 minute appearance in Saturday's 4-0 league win against Ross County at Ibrox.

He said: "It’s always great being a young player getting the nod to pay in front of Ibrox. It’s still surreal being a boyhood fan of the club. It’s amazing.

"I have these top class players to learn off and if I get my chance I’m there to grasp it with both hands. Everyone has been amazing, especially the lads who play alongside me.

"They take me under their wing and make sure I’m ok. I’m looking to get 90 minutes in the tank and play as many games as I can."
