Rangers are reportedly ready to end away fan lockouts with Celtic.
The Scottish Sun claims the Ibrox club are prepared to offer their arch-Glasgow rivals some tickets for the first derby encounter of the new season.
They state that 700 briefs will be handed to the Hoops for the game on Sunday, September 3.
Should the move go through, Rangers will be the first to propose changes to the 'no away fans' stand-off between the clubs.
The allocation issue has rumbled on since around 2018, when the rough 7,000 away tickets rule was scrapped.
Allocations were reduced to around 950 tickets at Ibrox, the same as every other away team receives after Rangers acted first. Celtic, of course, retaliated in the same manner.
Since then, due to covid and then latterly 'safety issues', there have been no fans of either away team allowed access into Ibrox or Parkhead.
However, this report claims that Rangers are now willing to welcome a small number of Hoops fans back into their stadium.
While 700 is better than none at all, it's reported that the number cannot be higher due to the number of tickets already sold to home supporters.
In a recent interview, Gers CEO James Bisgrove revealed: “We’ve now sold out our season tickets again for next season which is phenomenal — 45,000.
“The away allocation opportunity for next season is in the corner of the Govan West stand, which means the maximum we can do is 700-800.
“But that’s subject to what the rest of the stakeholders bring to that conversation and we’ll see where it goes thereafter.”
Meanwhile, Besiktas are set to offer forgotten Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara an escape route out of Ibrox...but only on loan.
The Finnish international midfielder seems certain to leave Rangers this summer after falling out of manager Michael Beale's plans.
Kamara even lost his starting slot in the Finland team for their Euro 2024 qualifier against Slovenia after manager Markku Kanerva explained he couldn't start him because of his lack of game time with Rangers.
Since Kamara was included in the Rangers line-up for the League Cup Final defeat to Celtic in February, the former Arsenal and Dundee player started just one league game - a dead rubber 2-2 draw with Hearts at the end of the season.
