Rangers starting team news vs Hearts as McGregor and Morelos start in final Ibrox appearance

Michael Beale has named his starting Rangers team to face Hearts in the final Ibrox home game of the season.

It is the penultimate fixture of the Scottish Premiership campaign with the Light Blues determined to sign off at home on a major high and make it four wins in a row since back to back defeats to Aberdeen and Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Since then they've defeated both sides while picking up a further win over Hibs at Easter Road on Sunday.

It's also set to be a night of appreciation for the five departing Ibrox stars following the expiry of their contracts. The club announced that Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Filip Helander, Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield will leave as Beale begins putting the stamp on his new era at the club. Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin kicked off the recruitment drive in January with a huge summer to come .

Speaking ahead of this one, the Rangers boss said: “There will be one or two players, whether they start or come on in the game, who will be around it. It’s right they get the chance to say farewell to the fans.

“Some people in our squad have been unbelievable for Rangers between 2018 and now 2023 and everything that’s gone in-between and it’s right they get the send-off they deserve. We need to win the next two games.

“Our form has been strong and if you look at our points per game and the table since I came in then we’re everywhere we’d want to be moving forward into next season. I don’t want to end this season slowly.

“I want to end it strongly and if we show the same mentality then we’ll be fine on Wednesday and next weekend.”

RANGERS XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Souttar, King, Ridvan, Lundstram, Raskin, Kamara, Cantwell, Fashion JR, Morelos

Subs: McCrorie, Hagi, Jack, Matondo, Wright, Barisic, Arfield, Devine, Lowry
