Rangers starlet 'set' for top team debut vs Queen of the South in Premier Sports Cup last 16 clash

Robbie Ure is set to land his Rangers top team debut tonight in the Premier Sports Cup clash with Queen of the South, according to a report.

Antonio Colak has been the main man since his summer arrival at the club and he netted another double to add to his impressive early season tally against Ross County at the weekend. The Light Blues face a huge Old Firm derby on Saturday with Celtic and a Champions League clash with Ajax away next midweek.

Alfredo Morelos is suspended after his Easter Road red card. His position is still unclear, with talks scheduled to have taken place with boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He was left out of the PSV travelling party due to various concerns including fitness and early season attitude.

With big games on the horizon, Colak is set to be left out for a much-needed rest with 18-year-old Ure and fellow teenager Adam Devine set for starting roles at Ibrox, the Scottish Sun reports. Kemar Roofe remains out injured as he continues to work back to full fitness from his latest knock.

Rangers go into the clash on the back of a 4-0 win over Ross County. But Van Bronckhorst could shuffle the pack even more to give crucial minutes to a number of first-team stars who, so far, have been on the fringes of action in this campaign alongside the two youngsters.

Queen of the South - relegated from the Championship last season - haven't got off to the greatest of starts in League One with just five points from five games. But the pressure will be off them as they look to cause an almighty upset in Govan later tonight.

The winner at Ibrox will advance to the quarter-final stage of the Premier Sports Cup.
