The Daily Record say Bassey has caught the eye of up to FIVE English Premier League teams along with two further clubs from Italy's Serie A.
They also report that Villa will have representation at Hampden later today as Bassey and Rangers bid to end the season on a high with a Scottish Cup triumph.
Hearts stand in the way of the Ibrox men ending the campaign with silverware.
Bassey is still under contract for two more years, with his current deal running until 2024.
And it is believed it would take a club record transfer for Rangers to even consider selling the highly-rated defender.
Fulham, Wolves and Brentford are three of those reportedly keen on the Nigeria international.
Ex-Rangers and current Villa boss Gerrard has already stated his men need to do some serious work in the summer transfer window.
Speaking following Thursday's draw with Burnley, he said: “But everyone knows the position we’re in and if we want to take this journey where we want to take it, we have to recruit well, that’s for sure. I’ve said it for a while.
“We did that in January to improve and steer the team away from any danger, but we can’t relax being 14th in the league, these fans deserve more.”
