Borna Barisic says Ibrox is a better atmosphere than Anfield as he looks for Rangers' 12th man to help them get off the mark in the Champions League.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men have arrived at the midway point of their section with zero points or goals as they get set for a second Battle of Britain showdown next week. The Ibrox men lost out 2-0 on Tuesday night thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold's stunning free-kick and a Mo Salah penalty. Allan McGregor produced a number of stunning saves on the night and will no doubt be needed once again in the return.
The Croatian international is confident Rangers can still secure European football after Christmas via the Europa League - with the cauldron of noise at Ibrox set to offer the players a huge lift, and an atmosphere they can use to help them upset Jurgen Klopp's men.
Barisic has described Anfield as a 'good atmosphere' but he says it doesn't compare to a European night under the lights at Ibrox.
He said: “Liverpool are a top team. But we are growing, we are learning and I think we will be much better at Ibrox. It is our home, our crowd. They are a 12th player for us.
“The atmosphere is still the best by far for me. With all due respect to everyone, I thought Anfield had a good atmosphere. But for me personally, not just because I am playing at Rangers, it wasn’t better than Ibrox. Maybe it’s because I have played in so many big games, played on so many big nights, but for me Ibrox is the best still.
“Of course we feel that we can finish third. The next game will be important. When we play at home it will be a little bit easier for us. But we also need to realise that all these teams play in front of away crowds, in front of 50,000, 60,000, 70,000 people. They are used to it. But we will fight to the end and try to go at least into the Europa League.”
